The San Francisco Bay Area has hosted three world's fairs: the 1894 California Mid-Winter Exposition, the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, and the 1939-'40 Golden Gate Exposition.
The proposed site is Moffett Field in the heart of Silicon Valley. The site is in Mountain View, 28 miles south of San Francisco and just a few miles north of San José.
As a technology and creative capitol of the world with a diverse population, the region is ideal for a world celebration on the scale of a 2020 World's Fair.
The official bid site is at Expo2020SiliconValley.com with a Twitter feed at Expo2020SV.
